Death Notes: Husband - Robert Davidson

Note from a letter written by Wilma D. Brown "Bentlinger" to Carolyn Davidson Feb. 2008:
I think the original Davidsons was going out west and got as far as Sigourney, Iowa when a child died and they turned back and returned to Ohio.

Note from a letter written by Evelyn Lucile Poling Brown:
The Robert and Elizabeth Davidson family had been going West by wagon train and turned back in Missouri. The Father, Robert, died in Illinois. Elizabeth and children went on to settle in Ohio.

General Notes: Husband - Robert Davidson

From the Obit of daughter Mary Jane Davidson Lillie: 1921

Mary Jane Davidson was born January 11, 1945, in Hardy County, West Virginia.
She was the only daughter in the family of five children of Robert and Elizabeth (Cochenour) Davidson.
When she was three years of age the family moved to Missouri in a wagon and later to Illinois where the father died. After his death the family moved to Ohio and located in Franklin County near Dublin.

Davidson History, 1836-1969 by
Viola Davidson Farmer, Robert was Scotch & Welch.
Robert died when his son Harrison was age 4 (1840) If this is true, was Elizabeth remarried for the sons Mary Jane and Isaac born 1842 and 1849. However, I've not found any documents to show Elizabeth remarried so I suspect Robert did not die until about 1849 in Illinois based on information within Mary Jane Davidson's Obituary. No mention of her being remarried in her 1921 obit.
Note: I have yet to verify and confirm the Death Date & Location for Robert Davidson.
